The Badacsonyi wine

This characteristic shape of hill is 438 metres high. In the BC III. and II. century it was more Celtic settlement in this area. Most of the findings were from the Roman period. The Badacsonyi press houses are often built on the remains of Roman buildings. Tombs, statues, stone coffins, shrines and other relics have been found (eg. bronze statue of the goddess Victoria). In the XIV. century, it was a known town.

Grown grape varieties

The Badacsonyi wines are typically bodied, fiery, juicy, high in alcohol and with extract content. Good vintages sweet late harvest wines, even ice wine is produced. Characteristic of the traditional wine-making, the „aces barrel aging” maturation.
